In Bintulu now listening to near-retirees demanding their bonuses and Rolex watches upon retirement. My response is :WHO GIVES A F***???????? If you're retired then this bloated company is glad to see you go. And we f**king don't need you anymore, you prune. So why should the company spend the moolah on YOU when YOU are NOT gonna contribute anything more to the organization???? Pah.
I'm grumpy now just because I wanna go HOME. And eat Maggie Mee and fried chicken from Giant.

Big City Here I Come
So the Good Friday weekend is fast approaching and we've decided to treat ourselves to an extended weekend trip to KL. We're gonna eat Sang Har Meen (I hope) and BBQ chicken wings, lemon meringue pie and everything else that we cannot find in Miri (a tall order).
Meanwhile in my usual fashion I have put together a list of stuff I wanna get:-
1) 3-tiered cake stand. I suddenly have the urge to serve high tea - you know, scones and clotted cream, dainty sandwiches, kuih-muih and the like.
Eerrm..not much else. Amazing. Maybe it's because of the planned blowout in Bangkok in June.
Well, one never knows. I always find something (or many things) to buy in KL.

Vanilla Twilight
As stars lean down to kiss you
And I lie awake and miss you
Pour me a heavy dose of atmosphere
I'll miss your arms around me
.........
.........
Cos I wish you were here
I'll watch the night turn light blue
But it's not the same without you
Because it takes two to whisper quietly.. ..(as if we could ever be "quiet")
..............the silence isn't so bad
till i look at my hands and feel sad
Cos the spaces between my fingers are where yours fit perfectly
..........drenched in vanilla twilight
I'll sit on my porch the whole night
....when I think of you
I don't feel so alone
.....I'll think of you tonight
When Violet eyes get dryer
And heavy wings go lighter
And I'll forget the world that I knew
But I won't forget you
....Oh darling I wish you were here
And I lie awake and miss you
Pour me a heavy dose of atmosphere
I'll miss your arms around me

Things I'm into:
1) So looking forward to the release of the iPhone 3GS. Check it out at http://hubpages.com/hub/The-NEW-iPhone-4G-Coming-2010
I want I want I want!!
2) Tod's Pashmy bags - I got the huge Bauletto - so light it is on the shoulder, so soft and luxurious to the touch (despite being nylon), so cool and urban looking. Now I'll be off to BKK in style :)
3) Bohemia
4) Glee - Kurt is hilarious and an inspiration to us all to be ourselves and thrive!! Rachel is as annoying as ever and Quinn looks gorgeous without her cheerleading uniform and high ponytail now. I've not missed an episode yet, am just waiting for moments for the likes of Santana, the other Asian (guy), Mercedes and Tina to shine more. Love love loved that episode where Kurt saved the football team with the Single Ladies (by Beyonce) dance.

For My Boo
Dear God,
I don't want anything for myself for now, please please just extend a few of your blessings to my wonderful Boo, who has been my rock these past months. We've been really happy lately.
He deserves so much more than he's got now. Please, if you could hear my prayer.

Rev2
A job is a just a job.
A means to earn the moolah that enables me to enjoy my life.
I resolve to:
- Suck it up and just work...for the time being
- Continue to seek the knowledge of my value
- Stick up for what I believe in, and speak it
- Detach (at least try my very best to) the emotions from it
- Be honest about what I am, and more importantly, what I'm not
A note on the bright side, AK and I have a lot to look forward to this June...we're going on a vacation, Bangkok and ChiangMai!! Yeah baby, I've booked us at the Park Plaza Sukhumvit (a bit of a splurge considering the multitude of choices of places to stay in the City of Angels. But what the heck, you only live once, and check out the great reviews. I cannot wait.

Pasta Carbonara for a really bad day
Today my external hard disk crashed on me. My whole life is in there - family photos, vacation snaps, music I painstakingly downloaded and freeloaded off a whole bunch of people, work stuff (including my past work), and all my financial trackings. On hindsight I don't know why I never bothered to back it up, and today I pay the price.
So as one can tell, I am NOT in a good mood today. And as per my recently acquired habit (no thanks to Nigella again), I make a creamy, hot, totally sinful comfort dish - pasta carbonara.
While the pasta is cooking, thick bacon fingers are slowly crisped in a hot pan (large enough to hold your pasta) with a drop of garlic-infused oil then set aside, finely sliced onions softened in the savoury fat followed by minced garlic and then a splash of white wine to deglaze. Let the bacony winey mixture bubble away to cook off the alcohol. Off with the heat now. Crack 2 eggs in a bowl, add about 3/4 cups of freshly grated parmesan and generous dash of freshly ground black pepper and a grating of nutmeg, and beat to combine. When the pasta is cooked, drain it (reserve a cupful of the cooking water) and toss into the aforesaid pan. Toss the mixture around in the pan juices, then slowly pour the egg parmesan mixture into the pasta, tossing the pasta around until you get a velvety sauce clinging to the pasta. Taste and see if you need anymore salt - with the bacon, the cheese and salted water the pasta was cooked in you probably don't, although I normally find myself adding a whole lot more pepper. Sprinkle with the bacon and chopped parsley and serve immediately.
